چکیده
In this paper, the microstructure analysis and performance research of dual laser beam welded 2060-T8/2099-T83 aluminum–lithium alloys were carried out. First, macroscopic morphology characteristics T-joint under different welding conditions observed. Then effect parameters pore defects on tensile fatigue properties weld out experimental results analyzed. It was found that heat input has a significant influence penetration joint. When power is too high, will absorb more energy increase in evaporation magnesium further penetration. depth increases, transverse strength tends to decrease. There no obvious rule for weld. At same time, inversely proportional porosity. increases from 19.41 23.33 kJ/m, porosity decreases 5.35% 2.08%. During test, it confirmed existence would reduce life addition, fracture can be when low, toe main source cracks. The crack propagation zone shows typical beach pattern final base metal presents brittle fracture. While, mainly located at defects. fractures inside have dimples.

Laser Welding of Magnesium Alloys
Aiming at establishing a reliable welding technique for magnesium alloys, the laser weldability of different types of magnesium alloys has been investigated using a high-brightness disc laser. It was found that high quality joints could be fabricated in the case of wrought type alloys when a certain defocusing level was optimized for the employed high-brightness laser beam of the newly develope...
متن کاملLaser Welding of Thin Sheet Magnesium Alloys
Magnesium and its alloys are active materials, and the oxide can easily form when they react with air and moisture (Czerwinski 2002). In addition, magnesium and its alloys are flammable and require strict safeguards during the manufacturing process. These disadvantages make the processing of magnesium alloys into finished products more challenging. These drawbacks cause defects such as cracks, ...

This paper was aimed to report the 3D finite element analysis simulation of laser welding process of Ti6Al4V 1.7 mm sheets in butt joint in order to predict the temperature distribution, hardness, and weld geometry. The butt-joint welds were made using CO2 laser with the maximum power of 2.2 kW in the continuous wave mode. A part of the experimental work was carried out to verify the weld geome...
متن کاملHydrogen-enabled microstructure and fatigue strength engineering of titanium alloys
Traditionally, titanium alloys with satisfactory mechanical properties can only be produced via energy-intensive and costly wrought processes, while titanium alloys produced using low-cost powder metallurgy methods consistently result in inferior mechanical properties, especially low fatigue strength. Herein, we demonstrate a new microstructural engineering approach for producing low-cost titan...
